A common challenge for fluid dynamic engineers is that, in the standard FVM CFD approach, the fluid volume is required rather than the actual geometry of the component. Engineers are interested in the ’negative’ of the geometry. shonMesh empowers engineers with the ‘Volume Extraction’ feature to obtain the fluid domain from the component’s geometry. The image below illustrates, from left to right, the original geometry, closed surfaces, and the extracted solid object. This object can now be utilized for mesh generation.
